Pardem

PardemPARDEM is an EU funded Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) running until 2013 and beyond. Partners from across Europe, including some of the world's leading companies, are employing fifteen young researchers on a range of PhD and post-doctoral projects aimed at demonstrating the usefulness and validation of the Discrete Element Method (DEM) in simulations for industrial and academic purposes.

PARDEM includes extensive, high-quality training aimed at developing its researchers into leading practitioners in the future, and we are pleased that one of our training events, our 2011 Summer School, hosted by DEM Solutions Limited, coincides with the PSA 2011 Conference in Edinburgh.

The initial research results from several PARDEM projects will be presented at the conference including a keynote presentation on the research goals and strategy in the PARDEM Project.

The PARDEM Summer School has as its theme The Application of DEM in Different Industrial Sectors, and will be led by Prof AB Yu from the University of New South Wales. Funding is available within PARDEM for young researchers from across Europe to participate in our Summer School training, and those attending the PSA Conference would be welcome to apply for this.
